Are you looking to make a light, delicious and refreshing dessert? We discover 2 low-calorie lemon mousse recipes, ideal for any time of the year and interesting in diets.
Being on a diet with the aim of losing weight does not prevent us from enjoying delicious desserts, which make our lives a little sweeter, but nevertheless do not add excessive calories to our diet.
A good idea is to opt for low-calorie desserts, made with one hundred percent natural ingredients but designed not to provide a high amount of calories, given that the objective is to continue losing weight without distorting the diet itself but to enjoy a dessert light and low in fat.
In this sense, low-calorie mousses become the best option, especially because they are desserts with a creamy and very refreshing texture, ideal for the summer months, although it is true that they can be enjoyed practically at any time of the year.
But what is the mousse? It basically consists of a creamy dessert with a spongy consistency, which is made from whipped egg white, which is mixed with the base cream. In other words, a kind of meringue is prepared that is “responsible” for its delicious texture in the form of tiny bubbles.
Chocolate mousse is tremendously classic and popular, although it is also possible to make it with a vast number of ingredients: fruit, coffee, nougat, cookies. There are even those who make them salty, for example with vegetables or fish.
If you are passionate about mousse, a well-known dessert of French origin based on whipped egg whites (or using whipped cream), today we want to propose the preparation of a delicious low-calorie lemon mousse. Take good note.

Low-calorie lemon mousse recipe with skimmed milk
We now propose another delicious recipe for light lemon mousse, but this time we have chosen to add not only the low-fat white cheese but also a splash of skim milk.
Ingredients:
We need 2 egg whites, 270 gr. of non-fat whipped cheese, 2 sheets of neutral gelatin (unflavored), a splash of skimmed milk, a few drops of lemon aroma and 2 tablespoons of liquid sweetener.
Elaboration:
First, put the gelatin sheets to hydrate. To do this, put water in a clean bowl and carefully add the gelatin sheets until they are covered. After a few minutes you will see that they are ready.
Meanwhile, in a large container, add the lemon aroma droplets, the liquid sweetener and the beaten cheese. Beat it well until it forms a cream.
Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks, reserving the whites. Whip them to stiff peaks adding a pinch of salt. As you can imagine, they must be very well mounted.
Now put a splash of skimmed milk in a saucepan and heat it a bit without letting it boil. Then add the hydrated gelatin and stir well until it dissolves. Strain the milk with the gelatin and add it to a clean container.
In this new container add the cream cheese and mix well. Now add the whipped egg whites and mix gently to prevent them from falling. Ready! Distribute in glasses and let cool in the refrigerator for a few hours.
