In different parts of the world, chard becomes a vegetable that is widely used by many people on a daily basis, since they have a series of important gastronomic and nutritional qualities, as we will see in detail throughout this article.

Not surprisingly, it is a vegetable that should not be missing in many weight loss diets, since when ingested it incorporates very few calories into our body.

Of course, when acquiring it, it is necessary to know that there are different varieties: Seakale Beet (which has greenish and wrinkled leaves and whitish stalks), the Ruby Chard and the Rainbow Chard (with thick reddish stalks).

But as you can imagine, the importance of this vegetable does not derive precisely from the varieties that may or may not exist, but from the benefits and properties of chard.

Benefits and properties of chard

The chard noted for their high vitamin content (particularly beta – carotene) and minerals (especially magnesium, potassium and iodine), but equally important is the content in fiber, being ideally -for example in intestinal transit problems such as constipation.

According to recent studies, chard is one of the foods that contains the most folates, which are vitamins that act directly on the production of red and white blood cells, as well as the formation of antibodies and the synthesis of genetic material.

For all these reasons, chard is ideal for inflammation of the kidneys (purification of the kidneys), various liver problems, skin diseases, asthma, vomiting of blood, or skin problems.
