Benefits of mamon, a fruit that provides interesting nutritional properties in a balanced and healthy diet. Discover its most important virtues.
The mamoncilla or mamón is a seasonal fruit, which is enjoyed in Venezuela or Nicaragua (and also in other countries), especially in the hottest months of the year, usually between March and August.
The tree from which this fruit is obtained can reach 30 meters in height, and its optimal production months are at the end of the year, especially in the months of June and August.
It is a fruit with a semi-acid flavor, round in appearance and generally small in size, which grows in clusters. Its skin is smooth, green in color, which tends to protect its delicious seed, wrapped in turn by a translucent pulp, yellowish in color, and a very sweet flavor.
From this fruit a delicious sucker juice is obtained, although its fresh pulp can also be eaten (one of the simplest and most common forms of consumption).
