How to make a delicious grandmother’s cake
Ingredients for cookies:
- 250 grams of rectangular cookies
- 1 liter of milk
- Cinnamon to taste
Ingredients for the custard:
- 2 envelopes of custard
- 1 liter of whole or semi-skimmed milk
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
Ingredients for chocolate:
- 250 grams of chocolate for desserts
- 30 grams of unsalted butter
- 1 small pot of whipping cream
- A tablespoon of water
- Cinnamon to taste
Step by Step:
It would be appropriate to use a rectangular or square mold, you can do it in a glass one or a removable one.
To prepare the custard, it is enough to follow the instructions that the manufacturer proposes on the package, although normally almost all of them follow the same procedure.
In two different glasses, we dissolve the custard sachets in milk, the rest of the milk will be heated in a saucepan, and when it starts to boil we add the sugar and the two glasses of already dissolved custard.
We will beat with a rod so that it does not stick and above all so that everything is integrated, we will remove from the heat and continue beating, it will thicken as we beat.
To prepare the chocolate we have to melt it with the butter and cream, when it is completely dissolved we will add the spoon of water and the cinnamon.
The water will give it shine and it will be easier to spread on the layers of the cake.
The cookies are not very complicated since you will have to dip it with milk and cinnamon, if you like, to start the cake. After putting the first layer of cookies we will put one of custard, we will distribute more cookies and we will start with the chocolate.
Normally it goes for several layers of each but it depends on the mold you use and how high you want to make it.
