If there is a characteristic food of autumn, it is figs, although it is true that we can begin to find them in many markets and specialized stores, especially from the month of September. Whether consumed fresh or dried, they stand out for being tremendously nutritious fruits, which provide us with the essential nutrients that our body needs during the autumn season.

They were fruits that were already growing in the famous hanging gardens of Babylon, and it is believed that it was King Louis XIV who officially promoted their cultivation in France as an official product destined for the royal table.

Fig jam recipe, ideal for autumn
Ingredients you need:
- 1,200kg. figs (fresh)
- 1kg of sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- thickener
Preparation of the fig jam:
First, wash the figs well and peel them. Then grind them well until you get a puree of figs. Now cut the lemon in half, squeeze it and reserve its juice.
In a saucepan, ideal for making preserves, add a tablespoon of lemon juice, the sugar, the thickener and the fig puree. Heat until it reaches the boiling point, and cook stirring from time to time. When it starts to foam remove the foam.
To finish, put the jam in previously sterilized glass jars. Ready! Enjoy.
