In our digestive tract, gas is mainly made up of the air we swallow. In turn, every time food is swallowed, due to the enzymes, bacteria (harmless naturally present in the large intestine) and their nutrients, much more gas is produced.
All this causes the appearance of carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and in approximately one third of people methane gas, which will eventually be expelled through the rectum.
It is, as we can see, a generally normal process, but on many occasions it can become quite an uncomfortable problem, at which point it is called flatulence or aerophagia.

- Potatoes.
- Vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and onion.
- Fruits with skin.
We must also bear in mind carbonated drinks, among which we find not only carbonated soft drinks, but beer or even sparkling water.
