We have all felt fear at some point in our lives. But, what can we do when that fear is so strong that it overwhelms us and cancels us out as people? How to deal with it?

We are fearful beings by nature. On many occasions we are terrified of changes, the unknown, and the new stages that life can bring us. The worst of all is that many times we do not realize that all these movements can be one of the many keys to being happy.

However, sometimes fear overrides us as people. And the truth is that I don’t blame you. It is completely understandable that there are changes or setbacks in our day to day that are not to our liking. But it is in our hands to know how to manage this fear so that it does not “come back” to bother us in the future. And through the following article I will tell you how to get it.

The first step is to accept it

Many of the failures we make throughout our lives can simply come from unfounded fears.  Everyone has them and that is why I tell you that you should not worry in this regard. The first thing you have to do is accept them. Recognize that they are part of your being since you are a person.

Remember that a good way to start solving a problem is to accept that it is there. Well, the same goes for our fears and frustrations. The more real they are, the easier it will be to get rid of them.

And how can we do all this? Surely many of you will ask. Well, a good idea is to take a pencil and paper to write them all down. In this way, you can remove them from your mind, from the depths of your being where they hide to control you. If you record your fears in a notebook, you will have externalized them and therefore it will be easier to tackle them in the future.

Delve into the reasons for your fear

Is admitting that you are afraid that you are going to stop having it? Nothing is further from reality. The next step after acceptance is to delve into the reasons why this fear forms from you. Has it arisen from negative experiences in the past? Or was it something or someone who has instilled it in you? Is this fear temporary?

It is very important to ask yourself these types of questions. In this way, the fear itself will get smaller. It will cease to be so important. In fact, from this moment on you will be able to deal with it more quickly and effectively.

Most of today’s successful people had to deal with all kinds of fears and setbacks to get to what they are today. Bill Gates, Antonio Banderas, Walt Disney … The list is long and it can continue to grow with people like you if you really put your mind to it.

And finally, you just have to add courage

There is no magic wand that will make you stop being afraid of something. This is a long and tedious process that can drag on for long months. Here there is no choice but to add some courage to the matter. Most of the fears we have are unfounded by events in the future that have not yet occurred. The present is what matters most right now, the one that allows you to be the owner of your own actions.

There is little point in paying our attention to things that have not happened. For this reason, it is of the utmost importance to have some kind of motivation that will catapult you towards future success. Don’t create a preconceived image of yourself in an environment of failure. This is not you, that is not your reality and therefore you should not worry about it.

And if in the end it turns out that you “fail” in your endeavor, there will always be time to correct mistakes. There will always be time to reconnect with yourself. And you will always have time not to make the same mistake again. And it will be there when you realize that you are a strong person. And that nothing and no one can stop you from achieving your dreams.
