Teeth are necessary to be able to eat most of the food we prepare every day. For this reason, maintaining good dental care is as fundamental as maintaining a good healthy diet.

Knowing how to maintain healthy teeth is something to keep in mind. In this sense, and with regard to the diet itself that we follow every day, we can choose some anti- caries foods that help us in the process.

Teeth care

  • Calcium is essential for dental health. In this sense, the ideal is to take it with food.  According to recent studies, it seems that cheese (rich in calcium) may even have a protective effect on cavities.
  • Sugar is one of the biggest enemies of oral health. Therefore, reducing or restricting its consumption considerably reduces the risk of suffering from cavities.
  • Chewing gum can help to mechanically clean teeth, although the effect that some of its ingredients have on dental health in general is unknown. Therefore, sugary gum is not recommended.
  • It is known that coffee can stain teeth. If you want to enjoy whiter teeth, it is recommended that you reduce its consumption, or restrict it.
  • Avoid tobacco, in addition to staining the teeth it can cause an extremely negative effect not only on dental health itself, but also on general health.
  • Brush your teeth whenever you eat, with a brush suitable for your teeth and gums. If a hard brush hurts you a lot because when you brush you bleed, it is best to opt for a medium or soft brush.
