How to make natural remedies with angelica

To prepare the natural remedies, the following parts of the plant are used, such as the leaves, seeds, stem, and the root. Angelica seeds are used to flavor jams, compotes, they are also used in pastries and candies.

Herbal liqueurs and gin are flavored with the oil from its seeds. Angelica essential oil cannot be ingested as it is toxic, so it is only used for external use, it is ideal for cases of arthritis and rheumatic inflammations.

How to prepare natural remedies with angelica:

Angelica root decoction for flatulence and gas colic

We will prepare this decoction with a teaspoon of angelica root and a cup of mineral water.

We put the water and the angelica root in a heater on the fire to bring it to a boil. Once it starts to boil, we reduce the heat and boil for 2 minutes.

Remove from the heat, cover and let it rest for 15 minutes. We strain the preparation and when it is warm we will take it.

We can take a cup of this preparation 3 times a day after meals.

Angelica root infusion to stimulate appetite

This infusion of angelica is ideal for situations in which the appetite has decreased, when we are in appetent.

We will prepare the infusion with a teaspoon of angelica root and a cup of mineral water.

Boil the water and once it starts to boil add the angelica root, let it boil for about 3 minutes. We remove from heat and cover. We let the infusion rest for 10 minutes. Strain the infusion and let it warm to drink.

We can have a cup three times a day, half an hour before meals.

Angelica contraindications

As long as the recommended or recommended therapeutic doses are taken, angelica does not present risks, on the other hand its use and consumption is contraindicated in the cases detailed below:

  • People who are allergic or who have presented intolerance to the plants of the  Umbelliferae family.
  • During the pregnancy period.
  • During the lactation period.
  • In children under 12 years of age.
  • In case of diabetes.

While we are undergoing some angelica treatment, we must avoid exposure to the sun, since angelica is a photosensitizer and increases the effects of sunlight.
