There is no rule about what food to start with from the moment the pediatrician tells us to start with complementary feeding. For example, there are those who prefer to start with greens and vegetables, and others do so with fruits.

Be that as it may, we must be clear that it is best to opt for the first recommended fruits (apple, pear and banana) and for the first vegetables (pumpkin, carrot, sweet potato, potato, parsnip and turnip). Since these tend to be digested more easily and do not tend to cause allergic reactions in most cases.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bonus or potato
  • Water

Preparation:

First wash the sweet potato or sweet potato, peel it and cut it into several small pieces.  Then put them in a saucepan and cover with water. Cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes.

After this time, and once you check that the sweet potato is cooked by pricking it with a fork (it must be soft), drain the water reserving it, and grind the cooked sweet potato in the blender. Then, to get a much more homogeneous and smooth texture, finish by going through the strainer. If necessary you can add a little of the cooking liquid if necessary.
