Benefits of barley water, a completely natural drink with interesting health properties. Learn more about its most important qualities and virtues.
If we talk about natural healing drinks, which are useful and help from a natural point of view when treating or alleviating different health problems and conditions, it is quite likely that rice water comes to mind. Indeed, it is a useful natural option when it comes to calming digestive discomfort and cutting diarrhea, helping to normalize intestinal transit.
Digging a little deeper, we can find other lesser-known vegetable drinks, but equally beneficial for our health. This is the case of barley water, which is obtained directly from barley grains, a very nutritious cereal that becomes an excellent alternative for those suffering from gluten intolerance. In addition, it is very rich in fiber, helps reduce cholesterol and alleviates constipation problems.
Barley water benefits
Helps us relax
Barley water is especially useful to help us better combat stress and anxiety situations, thanks to the fact that barley is especially rich in essential nutrients such as minerals (calcium, magnesium and potassium) and vitamins, which provide an alkalizing and remineralizing effect.
In fact, it can be taken as an infusion when it is still hot (although it is usual to drink it cold), so that simply doing so will help us relax in the same way that drinking any other infusion or tea relaxes us. In short, it becomes a moment of calm and enjoyment, ideal to be with ourselves.
Helps detoxify the kidneys and spleen
As we have already commented on other occasions, from time to time it is highly advisable to opt for the natural purification of our organs and our body in general, especially the liver and kidneys.
In this sense, barley water becomes a very good option when it comes to purifying the kidneys, and its use for detoxification of the spleen is also interesting.
Good against cardiovascular diseases
While barley helps to control cholesterol (so it is an interesting natural remedy when you have to lower high cholesterol ), barley water is also useful in case of heart disease and cardiovascular disease, thanks to its content in essential fatty acids.
Beneficial in pregnancy and lactation
It is a very beneficial drink for both pregnancy and lactation. In the case of pregnancy, it is very beneficial not only for the future mother (due to its nutritional and relaxing qualities, ideal when she is very nervous in the first months of pregnancy, something that is in fact quite common), but also for the fetus.
During the lactation stage, it stands out for its nutritional wealth, by providing proteins, minerals and vitamins, extremely beneficial for the production of breast milk.
